How to Stay Motivated

Motivation is something that can be as hard to gain as it is to let go. Everyday I get so many questions wondering where I get my drive, and how I stay on top of life, from making sure I drag myself out of bed early in the morning, to maintaining a good balance between study, exercise and taking some time out for me. Life is never easy, but it doesn't have to be all that hard either, so today I'm sharing all my tips on how I stay motivated and extra sparkly

1.  ROUTINE

Motivation doesn't just knock on your door every morning to drag you out of bed. For me, the only thing that does that is a good, solid routine. Train your body and mind to become accustomed to working hard by setting up a routine. If your goal is to motivate yourself to get up early in the morning to tackle your day, then set your alarm for the same time each morning and hop out of bed as soon as it goes off. Tricky, I know, but you can do it!

2. SUPPORT SYSTEM

I find it so important to surround myself by people that are motivated, motivate and act as a good support system. It is so important to cut out the negativity in your life, or at least keep it to a minimum. Be with people that believe in you, and people that make you happy. I guess this isn't always as easy as it seems, but it's important to put you first

3.  BELIEVE

While it's great to surround yourself with people who believe in you, no one can motivate you as much as you can yourself. I'm a strong believer that in order to achieve anything in your life, you have to believe in yourself. Take risks, and trust yourself to be strong enough to tackle anything

4. GOALS

Setting achievable goals is so important. Write out a list of all the things you want to achieve in both the short-run and the long-run, and hang it on your wall. Remind yourself of how much you want to achieve your goals, and each time you do, cross it off the list. Life seems much less daunting in a list format!

5. BREAKS

Yes, staying motivated requires consistency, but that doesn't mean that you're not allowed to take breaks too. Don't burn yourself out. Take time out for doing something you love - life is too short to spend every minute of everyday working. Mind your body and your mind. Rest.

Until next time,
