Instagram Diary #9



There has been so much happening over on my Instagram (@sadhbhers) lately, so I figured it was about time to do a lil' insta-round up for you guys, just so you can catch up with the real Sadhbher's life lately - which has been beyond hectic




From my boyfriend's birthday to Valentine's Day, we've spent loads of time together this month. Whether it's just watching a movie or picnicking (using last years picnic essentials inspiration), it's really important to take time out sometimes, especially during Leaving Cert, when de-stressing is almost as important as studying! I have finally gotten new runners, so I can get my running routine back on track. This weather is so bipolar that it makes everyday a little unpredictable, so it's usually pretty hard to get a chance to run anywhere other than on a treadmill, but at least I have zero excuses now! I've also popped loads of new #OOTD's up right here on Sadhbhers, so make sure you check them out before you leave!





As you may or may not know, I've got lots of pre-exams (or mocks) starting this Monday, so you guys might not here much from me until next Saturday, but hey, keep an eye on my Instagram account (@sadhbhers), and my Twitter (@sadhbhbeans), to keep up with how I'm getting on during exams and life in general,

Kiss Goodbye to MS



Hola Chicas! Today I'm talking about something a little more serious here on Sadhbhers - Multiple Sclerosis, or more commonly MS.

Multiple Sclerosis is the most common disabling neurological disorder of young adults and affects more than 9,000 people in the island of Ireland. MS is a disease that affects the motor, sensory and cognitive functioning of the body, usually diagnosed between 20 and 40 years of age. The variance in presence, severity and duration of symptoms coupled with the intermittent and progressive nature of MS impacts not only the person with MS but also family. There is no known cause or cure for MS, but that doesn't mean we should stop looking

It's time for us all to get together to back all the wonderful people that try so hard to find a cure for MS every day here in Ireland. This month the Kiss Goodbye to MS campaign is in action - so we can all donate a little to make a big change by simply texting SMOOCH to 50300 to donate €4, because a little really can go a long way

Runaway




It finally feels like spring, so what better way to kick off the good weather than with cute new kicks and a lil' bit of motivation to get outdoors and make the most of life. Life can be stressful, and the Leaving Cert can be even more stressful, so I feel like the only way to maintain a healthy lifestyle is by exercising regularly. No excuses, just do it. For those of you only starting the New Year, New You right now, it's not too late to get that Summer bod you've been dreaming of - just catch up on my workout essentials over HERE and of course my workout playlist right HERE for a little bit of extra motivation

It finally feels acceptable to leave the house wear running shorts instead of pants with the recent change of weather, so I've chosen my all time fave H&M pair. These are perfect, especially with the undershort feature which fortunately prevents any flashing - which is always good considering that it's super windy 99% of the time. And indeed, the sports bra is the most important part of any workout look or workout in general, so you're definitely going to need one. Nike is my current go to for these



Some wild and wonderful part of me thought that this look would be totally okay to shoot without makeup or perfect hair. I was wrong, but nonetheless how many of us actually slay every time we're working out?

Be my Valentine..?




Finally - it's midterm! I'm currently halfway through the pres (or mocks as most people call them), and I must say that it is such a relief to be able to take a few steps back from studying to do things I actually enjoy! I've spent so much time studying these past few weeks that I am absolutely exhausted - but hey, hopefully it will all be worth it! So today me and my sister/photographer decided it was time to shoot another look, but the weather didn't quite agree, so while our location isn't quite as beautiful as usual, I guess it did the trick! And here it is, my Valentines inspired OOTD!

What I really love about this look is how 110% versatile it is - it can work both during the day and the night. And of course I didn't want to overkill on the whole Valentine's Day theme, so I kept hints of red subtle and simple

Life Update: Exams


Yo, yo guys & gals! Life is hectic at the moment, so I just thought I'd keep you all up to date with the real not-so-insta-worthy Sadhbher's world;

For those of you that don't know, this year I'm in Sixth Year, yes - the dreaded leaving cert year, and I'm not gonna lie, it's getting pretty tough! I've got pre-exams this coming week, so I probably won't get around to my usual Tuesday and Thursday posts, but expect something wonderful on Saturday! Meanwhile, I've received so many SS16 invites, and as much as I would 100% love to attend them all to share some of this comings seasons top picks with you guys, study is really getting in the way - but hey, maybe Autumn Winter.


Meanwhile don't forget to light a candle for me, and keep all of us less fortunate Junior & Leaving Cert students in your thoughts during the Exams,

Study Tips


Hola Chicas! It seems as though all I'm thinking about right now is exams, particularly with the pres (or mocks) right around the corner. A lot of people have asked me for tips on studying, and what I find most effective when I study, so I figured I should share a few of my top Study tips with you guys;

1. Always study in a clean, well lit room; This is super, super important for me, and it's probably the only reason why my room is so tidy lately! It's all about Feng Shui for me when I study, so if my room isn't meticulous, I just cannot study in it


2. Recite notes out loud; This probably won't work for everyone, but usually I like to study by reading my notes out loud. It sounds silly, but try different tones, accents and always incorporate related facts. This is literally my go to study method


3. Don't set a strict timetable; It is impossible to know how much you're going to be capable of learning on a given day, so I avoid unnecessary stress by not setting strict timetables. I plan out what I want to get done during the week, so I know what I'm going to do but I'm not restricting myself to certain times


4. Don't keep your phone near you; Because refreshing Instagram once may seem harmless, but once turns into twice, three times.. you get the gist. Just don't even leave it near you.


5. Listen in class & always do homework; This is the basic method of subconsciously studying. If you don't pay attention in class then realistically you won't understand what's going on when you get home, and if you don't do your homework then all that new information just won't sink in - trust me on this one
